駕駛執照是什麼意思

若不是英式英語和美式英語的存在，英語學習起來比較容易得心應手，但是任何一門語言都有悠久的歷史和豐富的內涵。其實執照可以是 licence，也可以是 license，這取決於 licence 和 license 的區別。

一、在英式英語中，licence 被用作名詞，license 被用作動詞

1、licence 作名詞，例如：

Do you have a licence？

你有執照嗎？

May I see your driving licence please？

我可以看一下你的駕駛執照嗎？

2、license 作動詞，例如：

I need to license this vehicle。

我要給這輛車上牌。

二、而在美式英語中，只有一個存在，那就是 license，它既可以被用作名詞，也可以被用作動詞，例如：

1、license 作名詞

I am unable to give you a license because of your history。

因為你的前科，我不能給你駕照。

You must obtain a new automobile license when your old one expires。

當舊的汽車牌照滿期，你得領取新的。

The government revoked her husband‘s license to operate migrant labor crews。

政府撤銷了她丈夫管理外來打工人群的許可證。

2、license 作動詞

This restaurant is licensed to sell alcohol。

這家餐館獲准出售酒類。

Under the agreement， the council can license a U。S。 company to produce the drug。

根據協議，委員會可授權一家美國公司生產這種藥品。

三、兩者的區別

在美式英語中，只有 license，沒有 licence，它既可以作名詞，也可以作動詞；而在英式英語中，存在 license 和 licence，其中 licence 作名詞，license 作動詞。
