在多年交往當中，於是逐漸生成了情誼，為了維護好這些年的交情，我們有時候又得做出一些行為來維持情誼，得顧念舊情。

在英語中，同樣能表示老交情，顧念舊情，那麼他們又是如何表達的呢？

接下來讓我們透過美劇中的一個例子來了解一下。

這位先生在自己身無分文的情況來到酒館，他想要來杯啤酒。店家告訴他不可以的時候。他只能打出感情牌，看在多年老交情的份上，先賒賬。

for old times' sake表示老交情，顧念舊情。

old 老的意思，times 時代，for sb‘s/sth’s sake因某人或某事的緣故， sth or because you like sb/sth。

組合在一起，就可以表示老交情，舊情分的意思了。

例如：We come to bar for old times‘s sake。 看在老交情的份上，我們去酒吧吧。

Let’ s go to Pete‘ s Restaurant tonight for old times’ sake。We haven‘ t been there since we moved 5 years ago。我們去彼得餐廳重溫往日時光吧，５年前我們搬走後就再沒去過了．

和 sake 組成的其他短語還有 for the sake of sb/sth，for the sake of sth/of doing sth

for the sake of sb:

in order to help sb/sth為了某人或某事起見

例如： They stayed together fro the sake of the children。為了孩子，他們還是待在一起。

for the sake of sth .of doing sth

： in order to get or keep sth為獲得或保持某物。

例如：She gave up smoking for the sake of her health為了保持健康她戒了煙。

Don‘t get married just for the sake of it不要為了結婚而結婚。
