英翻漢，常常容易望文生義，翻出來的中文讓人讀不懂，只好猜。所以將一些常用的英文詞彙提出來給大家討論。試將以下幾個英文詞彙翻譯成為漢語：

1 Navy blue 深藍色，藏青色，也有人翻譯成“海軍藍”，因

英美曾用於海軍制服，即a dark greyish blue，也可以簡稱navy。

2 oriental blue 可以叫“東方藍”，就是釉裡藍，青花瓷上面

的那種藍色，而青花瓷就是oriental blue and white。

3 midnight blue 也叫深藍色，或午夜藍，中灰藍色，其實就是“藍黑色”，由藍色和黑色混合而成，顏色很深，a very dark blue， bluish black。Dark blue，深藍色，暗青色。淺藍色，就是淡藍色，light blue，也可以作pale blue，粉青色，或baby blue，柔和淺藍色。

4 blue in the face 不能翻譯成“藍色發青”，而應該是“臉色發紅”，因為容易被短語in the blue，“心情不好”弄得望文生義。真實含義是extremely exasperated，勃然大怒，怒不可遏。He argued with the boss until he was blue in the face。 他和老闆爭得面紅耳赤。

5 into the blue， out of the blue He shot an arrow into the blue。 居然有翻譯成“他把一支箭射向藍色”。其含義是“無影無蹤”，或“不知道去哪裡了”，如He takes a trip into the blue。 他跑到不知道什麼地方去了。所以，out of the blue也不能翻譯成“青出於藍”，而是“其來源前所未見”，“時間上出人意料”，比如，A new product is unnecessary to be “out-of-the-blue” new。 新產品不一定非得是“前所未見”之新。
